The organizing committee of the 47th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons encourages young surgeons from overseas to submit original abstracts in all clinical and basic research fields of pediatric surgery for oral or poster presentations.

* Surgeons from overseas who submitted abstract would be applicants for travel grants AUTOMATICALLY. Thus, no one needs to apply for the travel grant additionally.


1. Applicants must be either a young surgeon or a surgical trainee (under the age of 40) in any country except Japan. An applicant may not submit more than one abstract.


2. Japanese nationals residing abroad are not eligible for this grant.


3. Foreign nationalities residing in Japan are not eligible for this grant.


4. A supplementary award of US$1,000 will be presented in appreciation of participation by the 47th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons after the presentation.


5. The maximum number for the winner will be 10 and US$1,000 will be provided to each winner as travel grants.


6. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain the necessary visa for entering Japan prior to the congress.

1. The abstracts for applying this travel grant should be written in English.


2. If there are a number of authors, the first author (the registrant) must present the paper at the congress and has the right to receive the grant.


3. Abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the scientific program committee.


4. Confirmation of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the corresponding e-mail address registered as the presenting author.


5. Selected abstracts are entitled to submit a paper for publication in the Pediatric Surgery International, which is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons.
