Travel Grant

Application Deadline: December 28, 2013

The organizing committee of the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons (JSPS) welcomes and encourages young surgeons from overseas to submit original abstracts in all clinical and basic science related research of pediatric surgery for oral or poster presentations. All applicants from overseas, under age of 40, are can apply for the travel grant by the Abstract Submission Form. Please confirm the information below before applying for the travel grant.

  • An applicant must be either a surgeon or a surgical trainee from any country except Japan.
  • An applicant must be under 40 years old.
  • An applicant may submit more than one abstract.
  • Japanese nationals residing abroad are ineligible for this grant.
  • Foreign nationals residing in Japan are ineligible for this grant.
  • The maximum number of travel grants available is 10, and each grant will be worth US$1,000
  • The travel grant of US$1,000 will be awarded to each presenting author after his/her presentation as a token of our appreciation for participating at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons.
  • It is the applicants' own responsibility to obtain the proper visa to enter Japan prior to the congress.

Extra detailed information are given below:

  • All abstracts must be written in English.
  • If there are numerous authors, the first author (the registrant) must present the paper at the congress and will be awarded the travel grant.
  • Abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the scientific program committee.
  • Abstract acceptance or rejection notification will be e-mailed to the corresponding e-mail address of the presenting author around late-February, 2014.
  • Only authors who were selected for presentation at the 51st JSPS meeting can submit their papers for consideration for publication in the Pediatric Surgery International (PSI)(JSPS Issue).
