- General
Japanese Journal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine is the official publication of the Japanese Society of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, and publish full papers and short communications from members of the Society. Review articles from non-members and news of meetings in related areas will also be published.
The content of the manuscripts should be original, not previously published. No part of this publication may be reproduced by any means without written permission of the Editorial board of the Journal.
- Submission of Manuscript
One original and 2 copies including illustrations must be submitted to Editorial Office of the Society.
After final acceptance, the final printed version should be submitted with the exactly matching diskette. The diskette should be MS-DOS (Text File) and labeled with author’s name, manuscript number, operating system, and wordprocessor package used. Manuscript and figures will be discarded one month after publication unless there is a written request for the material to be returned to the author.
- Manuscript Form
Manuscript should be typewritten or produced on a word processor with double spaced and with adequate ( 3 cm approximately) margins on good quality paper throughout including title page, abstract (250 words or less), key words ( 5 or less), a reference list, tables, footnotes and figure legends: all sheets should be numbered serially. Page 1 (title page) should contain (1) the title, (2) name(s) of author(s) and institution(s), (3) number of tables and figures, (4) running head, not exceeding 40 characters including spaces, and (5) name and address for editorial correspondence including the telephone and FAX numbers.
Number references consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in parentheses. In the reference list, references should be entered as follows: reference number, names and initials of all authors, the year of publication, full title of article, name of journal, volume number, and starting and ending page numbers. Abbreviation of journal titles should conform the format of Index Medicus.

Short Communication: The length of papers must be adequate to yield 3 printed pages, and in no case more than 4 printed pages. Figures or tables are not more than 3. 3 type-written (double spaced and 5600 characters) = 1 printed page; 2 double-column side figures or tables = 1 printed paste.
- Ethics of Research
All research involving human or animal subjects must indicate that they have been conducted in conformity with the Helsinki Recommendations and the"Guiding Principles in the Care and Use of Animals". Authorization from the ethical committee governing the research facilities where the research was conducted must be specified in the "Matherials and Methods”section for any experiments involving the use of human subjects. Research conducted in research facilities having no ethical committee can be judged by the ethical committee of the Japanese Society of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, after completing the prescribed forms. This regulation will be applied to papers submitted after the 1st of January, 2003.
- Copyright
If the manuscript is accepted for publication, copyright of the article shall be assigned to the Japanese Society of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine.
- Publication Charge
For the first 6 pages, page charge will be free, while pages exceeding 6 pages will be charged 14,000 yen per page.
